Hi, so I´m finally back from hospital! A bit reduced and still under the surveillance of doctors, but back!

So I´m trying to catch up on some of the blogwork that was neglected while I was away.

One of the first things on my agenda is the Viva La Diva Summer Spring 2015 nailpolish swatches that I had already finished before I got ill, you can check out the original post viva la diva summer spring 2015 collection for Sian’s lipstick swatches.

Ok, so A couple of weeks ago The MUH Blog received a lovely care package from Swedish brand Viva La Diva. They had sent us the Spring/Summer 2015 Collection to review! Our International readers may not be familiar with this brand but they are a reasonably popular Scandinavian brand, sold in stores such as Cubus, Åhléns and KICKS.

The Spring/Summer Colletion: Dreams, which we received consists of four matte lipsticks, 4 nail polishes and a mascara. I´ve tested out the nail polishes and Sian has tested and already reviewed the four lipsticks and the mascara (follow the link above to check it out!) . The four new shades in the Absolutely Fabulous range are as follows:

  • Viva La Diva Absolutely Fabulous Nails: “Dream”
  • Viva La Diva Absolutely Fabulous Nails: “Paradise”
  • Viva La Diva Absolutely Fabulous Nails: “Beauty”
  • Viva La Diva Absolutely Fabulous Nails: “Angel”

Top Left: Dream. Top Right: Paradise, Bottom Left: Beauty, Bottom Right: Angel

Here I´ve applied two coats with no topcoat, and as you can see the polishes has a lightly matte finish. Some matte polishes can seeme a bit rough and bumpy, but these ones are like velvet with a little bit of shine.

“Dream”

“Dream” is a light creamy pink pastel that applies easily to the nails in two coats and is quite opaque. This is very pretty and light, but at the same time very pigmented colour that would appeal to most and if you´re like me and have some yellow undertones (also goes for those of you with a more golden skintone) in your skin, this polish will compliment those quite good.

“Paradise”

“Paradise” is a creamy light pastell orange with the same gorgeus velvet matte finish as the above. Here I´ve also put on two coats and no top coat. The polish is quite opaqe and pigmented. I personally have quite few orange coloured polishes, mostly because it doesn´t compliment me that well and makes me look even more yellow. This would look nicer on someone who´s not as pale as me, best for the more tan and even olive skintone.

“Beauty”

“Beauty” is a nice cold creamy matte nide that will appeal to most of you. It´s easy to apply and leaves a very nice finish after two coats. Since this is a neutral color it will fit almost all skintone.

“Angel”

“Anger” is a gorgeous creamy matte white, a classic summer color that appeals to all. I did have some difficulties applying this, but that was mostly my fault. I put on two coats and every nail looked good except for my pinky, so I applied a third coat on that nail…unfortunantly it ended up looking lumpy (and of course I didn´t notice until I was editing..). So my tip for this one is apply thin and even coats! Other than this it´s a very nice and well pigmented white.

Without any top coat I ended up being able to wear this polish for four days before I had to do some minor touch ups, and on day 6 I removed it in the evening and applied something new..

The price is about 55kr, which is about £4,50 or about $6.92, for us Norwegians this is a really good price, but the prices here are usually three times what they are in the U.S and the U.K.

I hope you enjoyed this quick review! Please remember to check me out on instagram and on youtube for more stuff and thangs <3
